Backups and snapshots for your own VPS

Running your own server with us? Backups are available for every SHC VPS.

  • Your client portal shows whether backups are on, when they run, how many are kept and when the last one finished.
  • Backups are encrypted and stored on separate infrastructure in the same region as your server.
  • Take an on-demand snapshot before a big change.
  • Ask support to restore a backup to a test server and check the result yourself.

+What's the difference between a backup and recovery?
A backup is a copy. Recovery is getting it back when you need it. We test the second part with you, so you know the first one works.
+Do we have to change how we work?
Not on day one. The vault starts by copying what you already have.
+Can you promise we'll never lose anything?
No one can promise that, and we won't. We can show you what is backed up, how often, and restore it in front of you.
+We already rent a server from you. Is it backed up?
Backups are available for every SHC VPS. Your client portal shows whether they are on, when they run, how many are kept and when the last one finished.
+What does it cost?
It depends on what you need kept and for how long. You get a fixed number before you sign.
