+What is BTCPay Server?
Free, open-source software for taking bitcoin payments, on-chain or over Lightning. You run your own copy instead of signing up with a payment company.
+Who holds the keys?
You decide, and it is written into the scope. On-chain payments can go to a wallet only you hold the keys to. Lightning needs a node that is online, so we work out with you who runs it.
+Do you use it yourselves?
Yes. SHC takes its own online payments through a BTCPay Server we run ourselves.
+Can I run it myself?
Yes. Deploy a server, log in as root and install it. The server is yours to set up.
+How do we pay for the work?
Online signup is paid in bitcoin, on-chain or Lightning. Work we scope and run for you is invoiced, and USD invoices are available.
